Connect your own domain
Point a client's domain at their new site.
-
Open website settings
Go to Websites and open Settings for the website you want to connect. The domain field lives there, alongside the site's global CSS.
-
Enter the domain
Add the domain exactly as the client uses it, for example example.com, and save.
-
Update DNS at the registrar
At whoever manages the domain's DNS, point the records at the platform as instructed. DNS changes can take a few hours to propagate - this is normal.
-
Verify
Once DNS has settled, load the domain in a browser. If you see the site, you are done. If you still see the old site or an error, clear your cache and re-check the records.
Good to know
- Set up the domain early - DNS is the slowest part of any launch.
- Keep the www and non-www versions consistent so you do not split your SEO between two addresses.
